eXtension Issues Formal Call for Learning Networks

Print

eXtension is issuing a formal call for individuals and groups to submit proposals to form Learning Networks. There are no preconceived subject areas that will be given preference. All proposals must justify the importance and need for the Learning Network (LN).

A Learning Network is a group of people who share common emotions, goals, values or beliefs, are actively engaged in learning together from each other. These groups should consist of subject matter experts with or without an Extension appointment, industry professionals, and the general public or a known audience of the learning network. The LN focuses on establishing regular and varied interactions using a variety of online or traditional mechanisms to ensure members’ needs are being met. Learning Networks capitalize on the resources at its disposal to develop products and address emerging relevant topics. They engage in online social spaces and participate in online events, such as webinars. Learning Networks explore all options for potential funding while simultaneously remaining flexible, attentive, and responsive to their network members.

Total amount of funding per Learning Network will be $100,000.00. Funds are available to fund two Learning Networks from this call. Application information should be provided as a single PDF file with signatures of the appropriate parties. The deadline for submission of proposals is May 15, 2014.

The full documentation on the Learning Network call for proposals is here.
